GS-9B Microwave Tube

The GS-9B is physically identical to the GI-6b and GI-7b, but several electrical parameters are different,because GI-6B and GI-7B(T) tubes have been developed as a radar pulse tubes but GS-9B is designed as tube for linear amplification in microwave amplifiers in the relay microwave transmitters.

(developed for a linear amplifications)
The cathode/grid area of the GI-7B is approximately double that of the GS-9B,because for big pulse current.
This increased grid size is responsible for the higher GI-7B(T) tube capacitances!
GI-7BT Interelectrode capacitances: input: 10-12.5 pF output: 4.2-5.0 pF transfer: 0.055-0.95 pF
GS-9B Interelectrode capacitances: input: 7.2-9.6 pF output: 2.8-3.5 pF transfer at most: 0.04 pF
GI-7B have higher tuning drift at 23cm The GI-7B(T) is only suitable for use at 23cm due to its lower gain, but the GS-9B with work well at both frequencies.
GS-9B tube more linear at all frequencies range.
All these qualities make GS-9B tube the preferred choice for use in HF-VHF-UHF-UUHF amplifiers!
The COAXIAL TRIODE GS-9B
is manufactured in the "Soyuse" ("Union"-eng.) factory in
Novosibirsk,Siberia,Russia. Typical use would be transmitters in
stations a data communication up to 1000.0 MHz.
